Takiyah is the mother of a six-year-old son diagnosed with autism at age two and later diagnosed with ADHD at age four. Takiyah also has a ten year old daughter. Her lived experience navigating diagnosis, therapy access, financial strain, and the emotional toll of raising a child with autism is the driving force behind this organization.

Having personally experienced the gaps in support available to families like hers, Takiyah founded Autism is the Norm to ensure no family walks this journey alone.
